First Impressions of the iPhone SDK
So, his Stevie-ness finally unleased the beta of the iPhone SDK on the world yesterday. I have to say, it seems pretty damn cool!
This is just going to solidify Apple’s future as the #1 cell phone maker in the world. A crazy statement? I think not. This is a smartphone that will now do just about anything people want it to do. For the business people, It will be a fully enterprise worthy email device with the new exchange support, and for the younger trendy set, expect a slew of social networking apps that take advantage of the location finding / picture taking / chatting services of the iPhone. Imagine an iPhone version of Twitter that can tell you approximately where all of your friends ARE on a google map? cool right?
Not to mention Apple’s new standing as the NUMBER ONE mobile gaming platform. Seeing spore and Super Monkey Ball running like that on the iPhone was a revelation. Most mobile gaming has been incredibly lame, but devs can now make awesome almost Wii like mobile games for the iPhone that will turn it into a serious contender in the space.
I have a lot of hope for the future of the iPhone and as Apple always does, they will continue to innovate and be 2 to 3 steps ahead of everyone else when the second gen iPhone comes out.
