Photo of the day: Best executed quasi-HDR Image I’ve seen
France, Strasbourg la cathedrale, originally uploaded by gbatistini.
For all of you out there who are interested in HDR photography, this will make you very happy.
This has to be one of the single most beautifully executed quasi-HDR images I’ve seen. Many of them are overdone to the point of looking like abstract paintings, but since this wasn’t done with traditional HDR techniques it was able to capture the magic of the location without being overdone. Kudos to the photographer.
Click on the image above to check out the rest of the photographer’s work, some of it is really fantastic!
Edit: People have commented that this isn’t an HDR image. That’s why I said quasi-HDR. Without a doubt the levels and dynamic range of parts of the image were modified and enhanced to create the effect, after stitching the shots together. So I guess a better term for the shot would be MDR (Modified Dynamic Range).
Either way, its freakin’ awesome
