Here are the first exclusive shots from the marketing campaign that is starting on the new Star Trek movie, being released next year. So far, I have to say that this looks freakin AWESOME!

Are they revamping the franchise, or remaking an older star trek — by that i mean is the vulcan “spock”, etc…

No, It a remake of the old series. So the vulcan IS spock, etc. Not sure how you can seperate Kirk from Shatner, but I have an open mind, and I have to say it looks pretty sweet.

I read up on it yesterday, it is a prequel to the first movie. I like the idea. The Spock looks right-on.
I’ve seen Star Trek 1-4, but bowed out after that. STII has always been my favorite.

If you havent seen 6 (the undisovered country) , do so immediately. In my mind it is the best of all of them, including wrath of khan. That movie will be the bar on which I base my judgement of this new one.

I completely agree with Justin….
ST 6 and 2 are simply the best of all.
I’m thinking exactly the same, use both as the bar on which to base my judgement of this new one.
